Residents have been told to stay away from the Chiltern Hills after an influx of people from all around at the weekend.
Heading to a beauty spot is not essential travel during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
On its website it said: “With so many people heading out to nature reserves and open spaces it makes it impossible to keep a safe distance from others – this is not the way to limit the spread of coronavirus.
“Please STAY AT HOME. The sooner we all do this the sooner we can enjoy our green spaces again.”
The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 324 miles from the River Thames in south Oxfordshire, through Bucks, Beds to Hitchin in Hertfordshire.
This came after government advice to remain indoors barring exceptional circumstances.
