Gold Hill Baptist Church (GHBC) in Chalfont St Peter is one of many local organisations that has been supporting refugees during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The church is involved with regular prayer, connecting with and hosting families from Ukraine, and offering support networks from the church and wider community.
GHBC is also seeking to launch a drop in centre at The Hub in Chalfont St Peter for Ukrainian Refugees.
Stephen Walker-Williams, Pastor at Gold Hill Baptist Church said: “The drop in will be coordinated by our church and supported by volunteers from our church, other local churches and the wider community. Our desire is to create a safe place where refugee families can gather and receive support in different ways.
“This could include Café space with refreshments, conversational language lessons, formalised language, a CAB advisor to attend and help with forms, computer access, play area for young children, conversational support for hosting families and access to practical resources.”
Many local churches are coming together to provide support to refugees fleeing conflict.
GHBC has connected with other churches who are working together in different ways.
These churches include Latimer Minster, Latimer Church, CSP Parish, CSG Parish, St James, Christchurch Chorleywood, St Mary’s Denham.
