A motorcycle enthusiast and Berkhamsted care home resident was recently treated to a special surprise.
Ashlyns Care Home manager Kelly Huxtable arranged for a fleet of motorcycles to surprise 94-year-old Harry Spinks on Saturday, August 20.
Dacorum Motorcycle Riders were joined by Royal British Legion, Mudslingers, Two Wheels and Tarmac, and Berkoff Bobber to give Harry a day to remember, even taking him out on a ride.
Speaking to BerkhamstedNews, Kelly said she received a fantastic response after putting out a call for help with the surprise on Facebook.
She said: “Harry’s always been a keen motorcyclist; one of his wishes was to see a motorbike again.
“The response I got from the community was absolutely outstanding; I had so many people contacting me.
“It was so special for him and his family was absolutely over the moon. I can’t thank everybody enough. The amount of people that shared the post was amazing.”
