Berkhamsted Town Council (BTC) is urging residents to take an online questionnaire on the new Neighbourhood Plan.
The plan, organised by the council, will help to influence future planning decisions, though it will not have the final word, as the local authority responsible for planning remains Dacorum Borough Council.
While paper copies have been mailed to many residents, there is also the option to take the survey online.
Mayor of Berkhamsted councillor Nigel Taylor said: “Our Neighbourhood Plan questionnaire will help us shape Berkhamsted for future generations.
“It has weight in the planning process, and while we are not the responsible authority for planning, it will make a real difference to the town.
“It is very important that we have as many responses as possible from everyone in the town, including all members of your household.”
