A Bushey resident was given special recognition for his community efforts at the recent Watford Audentior Awards.
Lee Partridge, Vibe 107.6 FM presenter and Watford FC match day host, received the Special Contribution Award at the annual Audentior Awards last month.
Several residents were honoured at the awards held towards the beginning of March with Lee recognised for willingness to always make time to help anyone and everyone but never ask for anything in return.
Speaking to BusheyNews about his win, Lee said he was in complete shock when he heard his name called out.
He said: “I was very humbled by it and really moved. I have volunteered my whole life and supported community organisations because it’s what you do.
“I dedicated the award to all the other volunteers, unpaid and community workers who don’t always get an award.”
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said the evening was a great way to honour the unsung heroes in the community.
He said: “We have so many people in our town who give up their time for many different really good causes. This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to some of them. They have a lot to be proud of, and we want to make sure that they know just how much they are appreciated.”
Throughout the evening more than £5,500 was raised to support local charities and the people of Ukraine.
