Published on: 24th January 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

Heavy snowfall has caused traffic disruption in Hemel Hempstead this morning, 24 January.

Police blocked off part of The Plough Roundabout with no access to St Albans Road and the A414 due to heavy snowfall.

Gritters arrived at 11.45am and the road was reopened around midday.

A vehicle also became stuck on Lawn Lane.

Police have reminded residents to only take essential journeys and remain vigilant at all times.

Hertfordshire Police said on Facebook: “Due to the current bad weather in the West of the county, we are advising motorists to take precautions if they are having to make essential journeys. We’ve already had a number of reports of collisions so if you do need to make an essential journey, please take care.

“Allow extra time and leave a greater distance between you and the car in front. Also consider other precautions including ensuring windows and lights are clean and free from snow or ice cover before you set off and that you have adequate clothing and footwear for the harsh weather conditions.”
