Proposals have been put forward to demolish the current skate park in Chalfont St Peter and replace it with a new one.
Submitted to Buckinghamshire Council by Chalfont St Peter Parish Council (CSPPC) and designed by skate park constructors Maverick Industries, the plans would see a new concrete park built on the current Gravel Hill site, with a large bowl, a pipe, ramps, ledges and new paths.
The redevelopment of the current facilities has been a long-standing campaign of the Chalfonts Activity Park Project (CAPP), a group striving for better sports facilities in the village.
Posting on social media, the group celebrated the submission and urged Chalfont St Peter residents to submit comments in support of the plans.
So far, 50 residents have stated their approval on the planning application’s webpage.
Tim Pie, a member of CAPP, said: “Our village desperately needs some free-to-use sporting facilities that encourage physical activity and positive social interaction for people of all ages.
“The proposed skate park is designed to be used with skates, skateboards, scooters or even BMX bicycles, and will be suitable for people of any ability.”
Maverick Industries and CSPPC have been contacted for comment.
