All Saints Church in Kings Langley have been preparing for Christmas and have announced two community projects to support the community.
The church has asked people to fill a shoebox will small gifts for children to support those families who need it most this Christmas.
Father James said: “We know that it has been a tough year for lots of families and we hope that this is a way to help those families who need it most.”
The church has also teamed up with the managers at Friars Mead and St Lauras care homes to bring some Christmas cheer to the residents.
James said: “We are inviting members of the community to buy a Christmas gift for a resident by visiting our Community Christmas Tree and selecting a gift tag which will bear the name of a resident and a note of their hobbies or interests.
“The gift could be anything from a box of chocolates to a puzzle book or something more practical such as some bed socks or smellies.”
The Community Christmas Tree will be up from December 4 and list of suggested Christmas gifts to fill the shoebox can be found at beneficeoflangelei.org.uk/allsaints/
The church is also hosting a series of Christmas services, some of which need to be booked in advance and others which will be livestreamed on the church website.
