A school in Croxley Green has scooped Secondary School of the Year at a recent awards scheme.
Rickmansworth School picked up the prestigious accolade at the annual Hertfordshire Service to Sport Awards, which recognised community sports clubs, coaches, volunteers and projects.
Vice chairman of Three Rivers District Council councillor Martin Brooks, who presented one of the awards on behalf of the district, said: “It was a fantastic celebration of sport in Hertfordshire and I was delighted to present Rickmansworth School with the Secondary School of the Year award.”
Every year, sports personnel and volunteers commit their time and energy to Herts sports. The evening, hosted by Sky Sports F1’s David Croft, acknowledged and celebrated the massive contribution that volunteers and clubs make.
Cllr Brooks added: “It is important to have occasions like this so we can recognise and reward the outstanding contribution that clubs, coaches and volunteers make to the community sport sector. Without them, sport would not be where it is today.”
Other awards, including Service to Sport and Lifetime Achievement, were also handed out to other participating bodies.
