A black tie charity ball in Berkhamsted helped to raise £6,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).
After Amelia Dormer’s teenage son lost his life to a rare form of cancer in 2021, she launched her own sweet company, Sammy’s Sweets, in his honour. A percentage of the company’s profits goes to TCT.
The ball, which took place at Berkhamsted Golf Club on May 19, was attended by more than 100 guests, including comedian Brian Conley as the compère for the evening. Local companies also supported the event.
Amelia said: “Berkhamsted’s Bigday Designs designed the invitations and menus, while Petals Florist donated flower centres, stylish teepees and picnic balloon arches for the event. It was a great success with a raffle, auction and disco.”
Since its launch in February 2022, Sammy’s Sweets has raised an incredible £58,000.
The company has also announced that they are honoured to be the official sponsor of Berkhamsted Raiders U16 team, and will be repeating their charity football match at the Berkhamsted FC stadium on July 24. Last year, the event raised £14,000 for TCT.
