After a forced break due to the COVID-19 restrictions of the last two years, family festival ROXYfest made a welcome return to Pinner on Sunday, September 18.
Organised by the Friends of Roxbourne Park (FORP), the day saw entertainment, stalls, a children’s funfair, food and the highlight of the day, the dog show.
Performing groups such as The Swing Street Allstars Band, Paparazzi and the Razorz rocked the park, with Harrow Radio joining the fun by providing music and general announcements throughout the day.
More than 250 pooches entered the dog contest, competing in categories such as ROXY
Golden Oldies, ROXY Pup, ROXY’s Young Handlers, ROXY Best Boy, ROXY Good Girl and ROXY
Rescue.
Winners and runners-ups received rosettes and dog goodie bags provided by the event’s sponsor, Medivet Pinner, who also took part in the judging.
Judge and veterinary surgeon Dr. Natalie Gibbons said of the event: “It was a fun day out with a really varied mix of vendors and companies, all with their own unique stories behind their products and services.
“It was great to meet so many wonderful dogs and their lovely owners.”
Chairman of FORP, John Hinkley, said: “We were so pleased to be back serving the community again and to see everyone having such a joyful day out.”
Lead organiser and FORP committee member Lois Swanger said: “It has been great to see the local community having such a wonderful day.
“Thank you to everyone who has been involved in making this day again such a huge success”.
ROXYfest is already set to return on Sunday, September 24 next year.
