SAFETY FIRST: Fire service urges residents to register devices to ‘help keep your family safe’

Published on: 21st January 2025   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is supporting Register My Appliance Week to protect people from the risk of faulty devices.

The scheme helps to make sure households across the county don’t miss out on important safety information for key household items.

Register My Appliance Week, taking place from January 20 to 26, is being led by The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances, who are urging all households to register machines, small or large, to ensure their brands know where to find them.

Whether machines are newly purchased, long installed, have been acquired ‘nearly new’ or second-hand, registration is vital to ensure people hear about important safety information or urgent product recalls as quickly as possible

Area Commander Lee Haward, from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “It’s important to ensure these machines we use every day are registered to ensure that you know if a product is recalled, or a safety repair is ever needed. Just a few minutes will help to keep your family safe and protect them from the risks of faulty devices.”
