Two local residents have been recognised in His Majesty the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025, published last month.
Tony Ellis, chairman of Northwood Residents’ Association for the last 16 years, was awarded a BEM for services to the community in Hillingdon.
Tony was a governor at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for 12 years and the nomination was submitted by the trust’s former chairman, Lord Morse of Aldeburgh.
Meanwhile, Ruislip councillor Peter Smallwood was awarded an OBE for public and political service. He collected his award from the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle last month.
Posting on Facebook, cllr Smallwood said: “While the honour was awarded for my work with the Conservative Party as a volunteer nationally, public service in all its forms has always been incredibly important to me and continues to be through my role as a local councillor.
“It’s been an honour to serve my party, and along the way I’ve learned things and met people I never imagined I would.”
