Hemel Hempstead shoppers were stunned when their weekly grocery shop was interrupted by world-famous star Ronan Keating, who gave an impromptu performance.
Ronan has changed his name on social media to ‘Roaming Keating’ after becoming Tesco Mobile store’s latest roaming ambassador. He has celebrated his new role by treating shoppers to performances up and down the country.
He said: “I am very excited to kick off my work with Tesco Mobile as their new roaming ambassador; it feels I perhaps was born to play this role.”
Complete with uniform and official name badge, ‘Roaming’ Keating visited Hemel’s Tesco store on Jarman Way, helping customers and recommending deals.
Local resident Mark Dugdale said: “I heard the singing, and I thought it was the shop’s music. Then I thought, they don’t usually do that in Tesco.
“Then I turned the corner and saw Ronan singing. It’s not often you often see Ronan Keating in Hemel Hempstead!
“I’m a London cabbie and I’ve had plenty of famous people in my cabs so it’s another to add to the list!”
