Local residents have objected to plans to build 20 new homes in Sarratt.
Antler Homes PLC submitted their application to Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) for the new housing development on a site near Dawes Lane.
The homes include a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses with more than half earmarked as affordable housing.
However, the plans have received almost 30 public objections and no comments of support.
Objections include concerns about the site being on green belt land, highway safety as Dawes Lane is a narrow road, and flooding worries.
A resident from Moor Lane commented on the application: “The additional road traffic that would be created by 20 new dwellings would place an unacceptable burden and a risk to safety.”
Another added: “This proposal on top of the 100-plus houses already submitted in recent planning applications, threatens to overwhelm the local infrastructure, which is already at full capacity. Sarratt risks losing its village character.”
Documents submitted to TRDC as part of the application state: “The proposal is an opportunity to efficiently develop an eminently suitable parcel of land in a sustainable location.”
Antler Homes and the agent for the application have been contacted for comment.
