RIGHT DIRECTION: Three Rivers burglary rates decreasing month on month according to police reports

Published on: 16th April 2023   |   By: Darius Morgan   |   Category: Uncategorized

An increase in proactivity from members of the public has led to a significant reduction in the number of burglaries in 2023, according to Three Rivers Police (TRP).

Exclusive data revealed to MyLocalNews revealed that police only made one arrest in relation to 347 reported burglaries in the district in 2022, with that single arrest coming in Chorleywood.

TRP claims, however, that results are improving this year. They stated that the number of reported burglaries has steadily decreased each month, with 27 reported in January, 15 reported in February, and eight reported in March.

Officers have stepped up their proactive patrols, both uniformed and covert, using intelligence and feedback from the community to identify hotspot areas.

Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Adam Johnson said: “The feedback we receive from members of the public is invaluable in terms of organising our patrol plans and planning upcoming events and campaigns. You can use our community voice platform ‘echo’ to share your views about what you think we should be focusing on in Three Rivers.”
