Garston Ladies FC (GLFC) have celebrated one of their long-standing members as she moves on to university.
Erin joined GLFC when she was just six years old and has continued to play with the club over the last 12 years.
As captain, she led the U18 Wildcats Team to victory in their league this year, despite having two broken toes.
Erin has made lifelong friends at GLFC and was recently voted Players’ Player by her teammates.
The COVID-19 pandemic scuppered her chances at England trials, however she continued to play to a high standard. This is evidenced by the fact that she is now off to university and has already secured a place in the girls’ university football team.
A spokesperson for GLFC said: “Erin is going to Bournemouth University to study Sports Journalism.
“We will miss her terribly. There will be many sad faces in the U18 Wildcats Team at the start of this season as Erin has been their rock, leader, and a constant support of encouragement and dedication as captain. But she does intend to go and watch them play when she can.”
