Statistics from Crimerate offer a fascinating insight into the number of crimes committed in The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross.
Last year, 670 crimes were reported in Chalfont St Peter, 209 in Chalfont St Giles, 417 in Little Chalfont, and 425 in Gerrards Cross.
Little Chalfont had the highest crime rate of these areas, with a rate of 60 incidents per 1,000 people, while Chalfont St Giles had the lowest, with a rate of 36 incidents per 1,000 people.
The location which had the most reported crimes last year is Narcot Road in Chalfont St Giles, where 20 crimes were reported.
The most common crimes taking place in all four locations were violent and sexual offences, of which there were 268 reported incidents in Chalfont St Peter, 106 in Chalfont St Giles, 166 in Little Chalfont, and 127 in Gerrards Cross.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “A number of community safety initiatives are ongoing with partners in The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross, with a particular focus on priority areas that have been chosen by local Policing Issues Forums.
“We carry out proactive operations which specifically target the priority areas.
“Regular Have Your Say meetings are also held.”
