RETURN ON THE CARDS: Some hope for Watford fans as Troy Deeney return to training

Published on: 3rd November 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Watford FC

With some Watford fans still hung up about last night’s result, some supporters would have been delighted to see Troy Deeney back in training and amongst the goals.

A video posted on social media by the club this morning (November 3) shows Troy training with the team and bagging an assist and a goal to some fans delight.

Since Troy’s lengthy recovery on the side-lines after a knee operation, The Hornets have lacked some real creativity and goals up top which has left the manager at times in desperate need of some big-name players.

With summer record signing Ismalia Sarr not in the squad and Danny Welbeck picking up an injury away at Tottenham two weeks ago, the side looks depleted and out of ideas.

Frustration has grown among the fans which showed last night as the fans reacted to a second half substitution against Chelsea.

Fans belted out “You don’t know what you’re doing” as Quique Sanchez Flores brought on Kiko Femenia to replace Janmaat.

Watford still remain winless this season and are still bottom of the league, but a return for the Watford captain could change that.

The Hornets face Norwich City this Friday night who are not in great form as they set one place above Watford and haven’t won in their last five.

Despite the apparent unrest in the side and in the stands, Flores has called for patience and time and believes they will be out of this rot come May.

He said: “It is really early. This is a big problem in football; that people think the season finishes in September. It finishes in May and it is impossible to think what will happen. We have to think about the finish and how it could be a good end to the season, how we can improve and how proud and happy we will be if we are able to do this. In football we think about what will happen tomorrow. It’s more than that.”
