Retirees enjoy meeting TV personality

Published on: 2nd August 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

A popular TV personality known for helping the needs of older people has paid a visit to a Pinner retirement home.

Dame Esther Rantzen DBE visited Churchill Retirement Living’s Heath Lodge retirement home in Marsh Road, Pinner last month, bringing a boost to retirees.

Dame Esther Rantzen is Churchill’s brand ambassador and has worked tirelessly to champion the needs of older people. In 2012 she founded a new charity called The Silver Line with the aim of combating loneliness in isolated older people.

“It was a pleasure to meet the Churchill Owners at Heath Lodge, and to see the thriving community that is taking shape here,” said Esther.

“Growing older is something to be celebrated. Older people have so much to offer. Many people of retirement age who are lucky enough to be able to stay as active and as involved as possible and can spend time volunteering, trying new hobbies or socialising with friends and family find it gives them a great sense of achievement and purpose.”

“I believe wholeheartedly in keeping your mind active as long as you can, by finding company that you enjoy, sharing time with people you like and doing things that you find engaging.”
