GREAT EFFORT: Radlett virtual fun run raises more than a grand for charities

Published on: 20th June 2021   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

The year’s Radlett Rotary Fun Run managed to raise more than £1,000 for charity despite taking place virtually.

The event, officially named the Nagler Simmons Radlett Rotary Corona Fun Run, was once again badly affected by the COVID pandemic and was unable to be held at the usual venue.

However, a DIY fun run was arranged last month instead. Entrants were asked to run wherever they wanted, whenever it suited them over the bank holiday weekend in early May, and to donate whatever they could to our charities.

A total of a little over £1,000 was raised for Rotary-supported charities and for Hertsmere Mencap.

A Radlett Rotary spokesperson said: “Although results have been published as usual on the website of our sponsors, Nagler Simmons, it should be noted that everyone ran their own unique route, so positions and comparisons of times are not too meaningful and it wouldn’t be fair to say anyone won nor to name anyone, though there were some really respectable times recorded.”
