A resident has shared her concern over the lack of lighting in Chorleywood station car park.
Lisa Stewart, who is a member of Chorleywood Residents’ Association, says she and many other villagers are worried about the issue.
There has been a power supply issue with the lights for several months, resulting in temporary solar lights being put in place by car park operators Saba. Lisa states that these are “wishy-washy” at best.
She is particularly concerned about the dangers the poor visibility presents at night, which includes drivers not spotting pedestrians or other vehicles.
Lisa told Chorleywood News: “As a woman, I can say that it feels very scary walking through the car park. I’m always looking over my shoulder and other female residents have said the same.”
A Places for London spokesperson said: “The safety and security of our customers is our top priority. While we rectify the poor condition of lamp posts in the car park, we have temporarily installed solar-powered LED lights. Working with Saba, our parking operator, we are rolling out a range of improvements across our car parking estate to enhance and maintain the service we provide. This will include new lighting as a priority at Chorleywood.”
Saba has been contacted for comment.
