A mother-of-two and former student at Aldenham School in Radlett is hoping to claim back the title of Miss Hertfordshire, which she won in 2021.
For Lizzie Spyrou, the last decade of participating in pageantry has transformed her confidence. With the Miss Hertfordshire pageant newly returned to the stage following the COVID-era Zoom competition, the returning winner hopes to impress judges in real life, too.
Now a mother to two young children, Lizzie hopes that her participation in the competition will “serve as a role model for other mums and empower them to feel confident in their own skin”.
Lizzie said: “Pregnancy has changed my body significantly. Before I had Freddie, I had placed in the top 15 of the beach body round at Miss England 2019.
“So many pageants in the UK and worldwide still prevent mothers from entering. My aim is to take back the Miss Hertfordshire crown and to represent mothers on the national stage, with the hope that I will empower more mothers to follow their dreams.”
After a winner is crowned in Broxbourne on July 21, Miss Hertfordshire 2024 will go on to compete in the national final of Miss Great Britain in October.
