Members of Croxley Green Baptist Church have set up a fundraiser in honour of a much-missed resident who passed away in February.
In commemoration of his 58 years of service to The Boys Brigade, a cherry tree will be planted in the name of former Captain Colin ‘Mr A’ Abbiss, together with a plaque at Stones Orchard.
Gary Mead launched a fundraiser on Monday, July 15, with the aim of raising £2,000. Hertfordshire County Council and Croxley Green Parish Council have both given grants of £500 towards this total.
At the time of writing, residents have donated £545. Any funds left over will be directed towards The Boys Brigade both in the UK and abroad.
The cherry tree will be planted at Stones Orchard at 2pm on Monday, October 21. All are welcome.
