The well-known Gospel Hall in The Vale, Chalfont St Peter, is currently undergoing renovations, with its operators emphasising that despite the changes, the building will retain its natural character.
The hall was constructed in 1930 and is unusual in that the entire structure is made of wood, with even the roof trusses being made of wood despite the large span of the building.
Bob Berry, a representative of the hall, said: “Many townspeople will remember attending the Sunday School in former days as children.
“Every Sunday at 6.30pm there is a Gospel Meeting, which lasts for one hour, and to which all are invited.”
