New plans have been outlined for a much-loved building in Croxley.
Croxley Green Parish Council and Three Rivers District Council have been working on a revised building proposal for the Red Cross Centre in Barton Way, which both parties described as a “win-win”.
A joint statement shared by councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of TRDC, and councillor David Tobin, chair of Croxley Green Parish Council, reads: “The new plan will be outlined to the public in the coming weeks, before being more formally developed and agreed with key partners.”
The future of the Red Cross Centre was first thrown into question in 2019, when the Red Cross decided to surrender its leasehold over the building.
Earlier this year, residents organised a protest against the proposed redevelopment of the site.
As reported in the September edition of CROXLEYnews, The Welcome Club was told to cease using the site after 58 years as of Friday, September 13.
The latest updates on the Red Cross Centre will be posted on www.threerivers.gov.uk/services/your-council/the-british-red-cross-centre
