A pair of Radlett mums have launched a podcast which aims to offer a “raw take on motherhood”.
Messy Buns & Getting Things Done is hosted by Natalie (pictured left) and Fran (pictured right), who were born and raised in Radlett.
With honest chats and relatable chaos, the hosts have already built a following of parents both in Radlett and beyond. Their aim is to find community in the experience of parenthood.
Speaking to RADLETTnews, the pair shared: “We are Nat and Fran, two local mums who both went to St John’s and Fair Field School in Radlett. With Nat juggling two little ones and Fran with one, we chat about everything from mum guilt to the hilarious, messy moments no one prepares you for.
“We started Messy Buns & Getting Things Done because we were having the kind of honest, chaotic, and hilarious conversations over a cuppa that we wished we could hear more of publicly.
“Motherhood can feel very overwhelming and lonely at times, and we wanted to create a space where nothing is off-limits – where mums like us can feel seen, heard, and a little less alone. We also both grew up in and around Radlett and thought, what better way to stay rooted in our community than by starting something real right from our sofa?”
Looking forward, they hope the podcast will grow into something bigger. One day, the pair plan to host local meet-ups and guest appearances with other parents or small businesses, all while spotlighting real stories.
Natalie and Fran added: “It’s honestly so encouraging [to see the local response]. Hearing from other parents who message to say ‘I needed this today’ or ‘I haven’t laughed like that in ages’ reminds us why we started. We’re not experts, just mums muddling through.
“Our hope is that it becomes a place where people can laugh, cry, vent, and feel supported – just like catching up with a friend.”
Releasing new episodes every Thursday, the podcast is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
