The Merchant Taylors’ 1st XI football team defeated the competition to secure the Hertfordshire Schools FA U18 Boys County Plate.
On Friday, March 21, the boys earned a fantastic 3-1 victory over an exceptionally strong Birchwood side to earn their place in the final.
Hoping to continue their success, the boys headed to Colney Heath FC to face St Edmund’s College and Prep on Wednesday, April 2.
After a tough game and excellent performance from both sides, it was the Northwood side who secured the win, earning Merchant Taylors’ the U18 Boys County Plate.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire FA said: “Congratulations to Merchant Taylors’ who won this evening vs St Edmund’s College and Prep in a tight game.
“Player of the Match was awarded to Rohan of Merchant Taylors’, who scored the winner with a stunning free kick.”
