Hillside Junior School in Northwood welcomed a special visitor last month.
David Simmonds CBE, MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, joined pupils for a session of Ferrero’s Joy of Moving programme. This scheme aims to inspire children to develop a love for movement through play.
Over the past decade, Joy of Moving has provided more than three million hours of activity in schools nationwide. The programme is delivered in partnership with the English Football League’s charitable arm, EFL in the Community, and its network of football club charities.
During the visit to Hillside Junior School, Mr Simmonds MP joined a session led by the Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust.
Reflecting on his visit, the MP said: “Today was fantastic. We need to encourage children to enjoy physical activity from a young age, helping them to build positive habits they carry into adulthood. Thank you to Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust for bringing the programme to life, and to the staff and children at the school for making me feel so welcome.”
