READY READS: Radlett Library offers new government approved service

Published on: 15th February 2021   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

During the current lockdown, Radlett Library is available for a government approved Ready Reads service.

The service is a new way to borrow books from selected libraries, including Radlett’s, in Hertfordshire where you can order books for yourself and other family members, all on the same form.

Residents will need to inform the council what you would like to read and which library you would like to collect it from. The library will then select a pack of books based off your choices and contact you when they are ready for collection. Send us a Ready Reads request

A library membership is needed for the service, but if you do not already have library membership this can be done online very easily by visiting their website.

A spokesperson for Radlett Library said: “This service is proving incredibly popular and we are already supporting families with some home schooling and plenty of reading for pleasure requests.

“We are able to supply age appropriate reading books for younger readers and will do our best to match our available books to specific subject requests, based on stock in our libraries. This will need to be on a first come, first served basis.”

If you are unable to access online services, the library can be contacted on 0300 123 4049 and a member of their team will be able to help fill out the form.
