The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Liz Green recently visited Berkhamsted Library as part of a fundraising tour across the county.
To raise money for the Hertfordshire Community Foundation, which provides grants to community groups and small charities across Hertfordshire, the High Sheriff is currently undertaking a tour of all 46 libraries in the county.
The money raised by this endeavour for the HCF will benefit the Shannon Trust, an organisation which currently works to improve literacy in prisons, with plans to expand their services to those on probation and members of local communities.
Joined by her cuddly and faithful deer mascot, Herty, Berkhamsted was the second stop on the High Sheriff’s grand journey.
Speaking about the town’s facility, the High Sheriff said: “It’s excellent to see the way children are encouraged to participate in activities from a very young age!”
