A woman in Bushey was arrested this weekend, prompting road closures and an armed police response.
Officers were contacted just before 12.30 pm on Saturday, August 10, to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at an address in Bournehall Road.
As it was believed that the person may be in possession of a weapon, armed police and the police helicopter were deployed, with road closures also being put in place.
Following a search of the property, a weapon believed to be an air rifle was found, with a woman being detained as a result. She has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause violence. No injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Herts Police said: “We thank residents for their patience whilst we responded to the situation.”
