A cyclist from Radlett has founded a group aimed at bringing together fellow cyclists from the local community.
Two years ago, Hannilee Fish established a group in Watford for female cyclists wanting to improve in the sport. The group has since expanded from three to 38 cyclists, with some of the riders progressing from casual cycling to competition-level.
Hannilee explained: “At the national level of British Cycling, there’s a gap between the Breeze groups which are inclusive of everyone and the local club level, which requires a certain level of fitness.”
It was with this gap in mind that Hannilee first set up the Watford group, and has now established a group nearer home.
The new Radlett Velo group invites both men and women able to cycle cycle 60km or more at a pace of 21 to 26km/h to join one of their rides.
The group’s members meet around once a month outside Brass Monkey on Watling Street before setting off on their ride. Those who would like to find out more can contact Hannilee via email at hannilee.fish@yahoo.co.uk
