RACE RAISER: Northwood marathon runner raises nearly £7,000 for cancer scanning centre

A local businesswoman has raised more than £6,700 for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre in Northwood through running the London Marathon.

The centre at Mount Vernon Hospital is a world-class cancer imaging facility which operates as a medical charity and scans around 15,000 patients every year. It provides life-changing CT, MRI and PET-CT scans to diagnose and monitor cancer and other serious conditions.

As reported in last month’s issue of NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, Louise was inspired to fundraise for the centre due to the support it had provided for her friend, Julia. Sadly, Julia has since passed away.

Louise said: “It was absolutely amazing; the crowds were fantastic.

“I thought of Julia every mile of the run.”

Louise’s business, NumberMill Accounting, will match any money Louise is able to raise in sponsorship.

To donate, please visit her webpage on the London Marathon website.
