Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) are to temporarily relocate their county-wide music service to Redbourn for this year’s county show, running a pop-up version of the service for the duration of the two-day event.
The pop-up music service will highlight some of their recent successes, such as their gala performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, with performances from massed school choirs, Hertfordshire Schools’ Symphony Orchestra, County Youth Choir, and the winners of the gala composition, as well as many more musicians, dancers, and performers.
Terry Douris, HCC’s executive member for localism, said: “I believe the Herts County Show pitch this year will not only be our most exciting and successful yet, but also showcases a really valuable council service that truly embodies our values of achieving healthy and fulfilling lives for all the residents of Hertfordshire.
“All Hertfordshire’s children and young people, regardless of background or circumstances, have the opportunity to discover or develop their unique musical voice and express themselves through the language of music.
“I am really looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying the entertainment together. There will be the opportunity to also find out more about the free instrument loans schemes, the help with music tuition fees and the wide variety of lessons that are on offer to all young people in the county.”
The Hertfordshire County Show will take place at The Showground in Redbourn over the weekend of May 27 and 28. Last year, 45,000 guests enjoyed the annual event.
