Woodoaks Farm in Rickmansworth has smashed its £50,000 target for the final fundraising push for its community hub project.
As reported in last month’s edition of Ricky News, the farm aimed to raise £2.5million to create a new community and education hub to provide facilities to host events, workshops, school visits and more.
In the final days of the Black Barn fundraiser, all gifts from first-time donors were doubled through match funding.
On Monday, June 2, the farm announced that it had reached its £50,000 target. By the time the fundraiser closed on Sunday, June 8, this had risen to £60,700.
Posting on Facebook on Tuesday, June 10, Woodoaks Farm said: “To everyone who gave, gifted, and gathered around The Black Barn Project – thank you for helping us… surpass our target. Together, we’ve raised £60,000+ and built something stronger than we ever imagined: a community with a shared sense of purpose and possibility.
“You’ve all been part of helping us to realise a vision where everyone can come together to protect wildlife, restore our landscape and celebrate our heritage.”
