The nation’s number one badminton player of her age category won yet another international tournament last month.
Amersham resident, Aahna Bhatia, claimed the gold medal in the Singles event at the Under 15s Spanish International in Ibiza.
Aahna bested more than 50 of the best badminton players from around Europe in the three- day tournament that took place from September 16 – 18.
Currently in Year 9, Aahna has already had an illustrious junior career. Back in 2019, she won gold in an Under 11s tournament in Denmark, and earlier this year she won medals in Singles and Doubles events in France and Croatia.
Aahna has also been a part of the England Junior pathway for the last three years. The programme selects players that demonstrate the attributes and future performance potential to win medals at major Senior International events.
Pushkar Bhatia, Aahna’s father, told AmershamNews: “Aahna fell in love with badminton when she was five years old and not looked back since.”
