Students at Breakspeare School in Abbots Langley had the opportunity to take a first-hand look at the day-to-day business of policing recently, thanks to a visit from officers.
Sergeant Brown and Police Community Support Officers Abeles, Gomm and Munday of Abbots Langley’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) visited the school on Gallows Hill Lane on Thursday, March 23, to give a special talk on the work police officers do in the local community.
As well as answering questions from pupils, the officers also showed students the equipment and police vehicles they use every day, and demonstrated the actions they take to secure a road following a vehicular accident.
Posting about the visit on social media, the SNT said: “Engaging with the community is a key principle to policing and breaks down barriers between the police and public.
“If you wish for us to visit your school, please contact us via our website or call 101 to arrange a visit.”
