A crowd of 566 people were at Clarence Park in St Albans this afternoon to see St Albans City FC take on Oxford City FC.
The Saints started brightly and striker Joe Iaciofano hit the woodwork after a lay-off by Zane Banton after just ten minutes.
Further good play by the Saints, particularly Rohdell Gordon and Solomon Nwabuokei saw skipper David Noble test the Oxford keeper in the early part of the game.
The Saints had to be on the guard as Oxford grew into the game in the latter part of the first half.
After the break, the rain became heavier and the watching crowd had to wait until the 69th minute for the first shot on target from Saints’ Harry Forster.
In the end, both teams settled for a point failing to excite those hardy souls who braved the conditions.
St Albans are next in action when they take on Havant and Waterlooville FC on February 22.
