The long-awaited facelift of the Pheasant Hill playground in Chalfont St Giles is finally complete.
Residents and councillors gathered at the site on Saturday, June 10, to celebrate the completion of the refurbishment. Councillor Gordon Patrick BEM, chairperson of Chalfont St Giles Parish Council (CSGPC), cut the ribbon.
Councillor Jane Chamberlain, who led the project, said: “We decided a couple of years ago that the playground needed a facelift, and so began the process of asking our residents what type of equipment they would like to have and what playground style was needed.
“Most people who responded to our surveys wanted a playground that was in keeping with the beautiful surrounding countryside.
“More importantly was the need to make the new playground accessible to young children of all abilities, so we have included more sensory features and inclusive equipment.”
Several organisations provided the funding for the new equipment, including CSGPC, Buckinghamshire Council’s Local Community Board, Align and HS2.
