Staff from a Bushey school say they are “thrilled” with the success of a project which helped raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Longwood School and Nursery recently concluded its Enterprise Project initiative, which took place during the summer term.
As part of the initiative, each family within the school was provided with a loan of £5. This loan served as an initial investment to jumpstart their respective business ventures, such as baking and selling cakes, crafting unique birthday cards, or providing car-cleaning services.
The primary objective of the project was to encourage children to grow their £5 investment while also acquiring entrepreneurial skills.
The profits from the project, which totalled £2,700, have been donated to The National Literacy Trust.
Headteacher Claire May said: “We are thrilled to witness the incredible creativity and ambition demonstrated by our pupils and families.
“We are confident that this initiative will inspire and empower our pupils to become future leaders and responsible citizens.”
