Police made three arrests after both class A and B drugs and thousands of pounds in cash were seized during a warrant in South Oxhey.
The constabulary’s Operational Support Group (OSG) forced entry to a property on Gosforth Lane just before 3pm on Thursday, July 3.
They found and seized a significant quantity of class A (crack cocaine) and class B (cannabis) drugs, as well as just under £12,000 in cash after searching the property under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
The OSG were joined in this high-visibility operation by colleagues from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, and the Intervention team.
Three Rivers’ Chief Inspector Kio Bozorgi said: “This proactive operation was a joint effort between local officers and the OSG, who work countywide to tackle organised and acquisitive crime.
“It was also timed to perfection, as the Police and Crime Commissioner and I happened to be at a community meeting held at the parish council offices just down the road.
“The overt police activity was very well received by residents and councillors during the meeting; it’s not often that the PCC is able to hear the public’s positive comments in live time while presenting his policing plan for the area!
“I hope our residents feel reassured that we can and will act on the intelligence gathered by you and given to us about illegal activity in your neighbourhood. You are our extra eyes and ears; if you have information for us, we want to hear it. You can help us make Three Rivers an even safer place to live, work and visit.”
- Gregg Bevis, 36, from Gosforth Lane in South Oxhey, has been charged with possession with intent to supply class A (crack cocaine) and class B (cannabis) drugs. He has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday, August 5.
- A 19-year-old man from Watford and a 31-year-old woman from South Oxhey have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs. They have been released on conditional bail ahead of their next court appearance.
