The deadline for entries to Abbots Langley Community Centre’s (ALCC) mural competition has been extended to Thursday, July 31.
As covered in recent editions of ABBOTSnews, the competition aims to find a design for a new mural on the community centre’s interior wall. The winning design will be painted on the wall by acclaimed local artist Gaye Daniels.
ABBOTSnews caught up with Marian Marsh, secretary of ALCC.
She said: “Abbots Langley has a very strong community spirit and as the ALCC is the hub of the community, we thought it was important to get residents involved. We have many user groups who use the centre, together with occasional hires, and the centre is a great space.
“Having the mural, I hope, would really enhance the centre and be seen by many.”
She highlighted that artists of all ages and abilities should send in their designs as the goal of the mural is to deliver a “new lease of life” to ALCC, which will undergo a broader renovation at the same time.
