PENALTY MISERY: Kings Langley FC exit the FA Cup after away defeat to Barking

Kings Langley FC have been knocked out of the FA Cup in the Second Qualifying Round, after losing on penalties to Isthmian League South Central side Barking FC.

Despite Kings’ spectacular final 10 minutes which saw them come from two goals down to level proceedings, it was penalty drama in the end which knocked them out.

Chris Cummins’ men started brightly in the opening five minutes, but the goal came against the run of play with Barking’s Junior Dadson opening the scoring just before then 10-minute mark.

Barking looked to have sealed the game with 15 minutes remaining thanks to Michael Dixon’s goal.

However, Kings showed that never-say-die spirit that we’ve seen often this season, when Bradley Wadkins pulled one back on the 80th minute, setting up a tense final 10.

In the 86th minute, Kings managed to get the equaliser and once again it was that man Bradley Wadkins, who this this time managed to get his head on the head of a well worked corner, beating the Barking goalkeeper all ends up.

After progressing in the last round on penalties, Kings would be confident of doing the same again and it looked like it was going to happen when Barking missed their first penalty, but the away side missed their final three spot-kicks, meaning their FA Cup run had come to an end.

There’s not much time to dwell on the disappointment though, with a trip to Peterborough Sports coming in the league on Tuesday evening.
