Kings Langley Local History and Museum Society has unveiled fresh plans to keep the past alive in bold new ways.
This year saw the appointment of new chair Jason Smith and vice chair Kevin Long – a dedicated duo aiming to unveil the secrets hidden within the village’s streets.
The pair set out one of the society’s projects for 2025, which is to research and document life in Kings Langley and the surrounding areas during the Second World War.
Going further than dusting off old books and records, the group was granted permission to uncover the forgotten Kings Langley pill box.
After a long day’s toil of hacking away at the undergrowth, the 85-year-old defences slowly revealed themselves.
During their research, the group has also been documenting and remembering the fallen 32 men who have been immortalised on the war memorial.
Though they have uncovered lots of information, the group is asking residents with any stories or information to reach out to jasonsmith.kllhms@gmail.com
Information uncovered by the group will be included in an exhibition taking place on the weekend of October 25 and 26 at Kings Langley Secondary School. More information to follow.
