PARADE CANCELLED: Northwood Remembrance event stopped by COVID-19

Published on: 1st October 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Northwood Remembrance Sunday Parade, which was set to take place next month, has been cancelled along with the yearly Poppy Appeal.

The Northwood Residents’ Association (NRA) announced the cancellations last month, but they’ve set up a JustGiving page for the Northwood 2020 Poppy Appeal as an alternative to the usual in-person appeal. The Royal British Legion agreed with the move.

In a statement, the NRA said: “The pandemic has knocked many, many events out of our calendars this year and the Poppy Appeal is no exception. Sadly, there will be no face-to-face collections which, of course, means that the normal Waitrose collection will not take place. The Northwood Remembrance Sunday Parade on Sunday, November 8 is cancelled.

“This decision has been agreed with the Ruislip and Northwood Royal British Legion, Northwood Residents’ Association and those involved in organising the Northwood Remembrance Parades.”
