The Northwood police forces heavily endorsed Met Police’s Look Closer campaign last month to help prevent child abuse.
Officers from the Northwood and Northwood Hills Safer Neighbourhood Teams took to the streets from September 14 to 18, handing out Look Closer posters and leaflets to local people and businesses.
Exploited children and young people don’t always look vulnerable and may not act like victims.
The goal of the campaign was to get people to be more vigilant of the signs that a child they see or know is being victimised.
During the week, Northwood Police tweeted: “Any young person can be a victim of exploitation and they may not always appear ‘vulnerable’ or act like ‘victims’.
“Help us protect children and young people from all forms of exploitation. Don’t wait. Report it. childrenssociety.org.uk/lookcloser”.
