Marcie Reid, a 27-year-old office manager based in Croxley, has walked away with one of the three top prizes at a national beauty pageant.
She was crowned Miss Scotland 2022 at the UK Miss Earth competition, which was held on Saturday, July 16th at the Hilton East Midlands Airport hotel.
This win puts her, along with Miss England winner Beth Rice and Miss Wales champ Shereen Brogan as one of the three women the UK is sending to the Miss Earth international finals in the Philippines in January of next year.
Speaking about her victory, Miss Reid said: “Your Miss Earth Scotland 2022 – it’s not sunk in yet! I cannot wait to represent the beautiful nation of Scotland in the Philippines on the international Miss Earth stage later this year.
“Winning was such a surreal moment; I think I’ll be living on cloud 9 until further notice!’
The Mis Earth competition is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants but is the only one with a focus on environmental sustainability and ecological thinking.
It is the first time the UK branch of the contest has announced winners from three of the home nations rather than the unified Miss GB title.
