LATE EQUALISER: Berkhamsted leave it late to grab a point in season opener

After ending last season at the top of the BetVictor Southern League Division One Central, optimism was high for Berkhamsted, but the Comrades could only take a point from the opening game against North Leigh, thanks to a late equaliser from Alie Bangura.

A quiet match at Broadwater was brought to life in the second half after visitors took the lead on the 56th minute thanks to a goal from Joh Mills. 0-1

North Leigh almost doubled their lead not long after when an effort had to be cleared off the line by a Berko defender.

Bangura was the man to save Berkhamsted from an opening day defeat, and the ball was headed towards him from Max Farrelly allowed him to finish beautifully to ensure the Comrades took something from the game.

Next up for Berkhamsted is their first away game of the season as they travel to Bedford Town on Tuesday night.
