A pub that has been at the centre of its local community for nearly 70 years has reopened after a series of renovations.
The Badger on the Meriden has spent five weeks and £80,000 on refurbishing the pub that has stood since 1956.
The pub boasts an all-new bar, a modern outside arena that is primed for hosting bands, more than 10 televisions for football showings, and pristine pool and darts facilities.
Manager Darren Seabrook has just signed another twenty-year lease and is beginning to look ahead after the recent tribulations of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Darren said: “We did the renovations ourselves, and it has all turned out really well. We had a lot of support from the brewery (Punch Pubs and Co).”
“People don’t realise how nice it is in here. It’s had a bad name in the past, but there’s a good bunch of people here, a great community.”
